Press release on the meeting between the HR/VP Federica Mogherini and Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan
The HR/VP Federica Mogherini met today in Brussels Her Majesty the Queen of Jordan, Rania Al Abdallah. The HR/VP and Her Majesty discussed the very tense and volatile situation in the region, in particular the crisis in Syria and the humanitarian consequences that affect also the neighbouring countries.
The HR/VP Federica Mogherini praised Jordan's role as a strong partner and a crucial player for the stability of the region, and for generously hosting a great number of Syrian refugees.
She confirmed that the EU will continue to closely cooperate with Jordan and will mobilise all its instruments to increase its support the country in the coming months.
