His Excellency Mr Alfonso Dastis, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Spain

Dear Mr Dastis,

We, the Foreign Affairs Commission of Al Jazira Canton of the Democratic Self-

Administration - Northern Syria, are deeply saddened by the news of the cowardly

terrorist attacks in Barcelona and Cambrils on 17 August 2017, killing fourteen people

and injuring dozens of innocent civilians.

We strongly condemn this criminal act, which contravenes all religions and human

values. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the government and people of Spain and

express our solidarity with the families of the victims, wishing the injured a speedy

recovery.

19/08/2017

We reaffirm our solidarity with you and urge you to continue strengthening and

developing our joint efforts and campaign against terrorism, which is threatening

humanity and the entire free world. This co-operation is vital especially as we are about

to achieve historic victories in the Raqqa campaign, as necessary steps towards

eradicating terrorism from the region. These victories can only be achieved by

reinforcing the co-ordination and collaboration between the Syrian Democratic Forces

and the Global Coalition to Counter ISIS, especially as Spain is one of the main countries

in this Coalition.
