The Syrian Coalition closely followed the military strikes that the United States, Great Britain, and France launched against the Assad regime’s military positions and facilities that had been long used to kill the Syrian people and ruin their lives.

The Coalition sees these strikes as an important step towards crippling the Assad regime and undermining its military capabilities that it used to bomb Syrian cities with all kinds of banned weapons, including chemical weapons.

The Coalition emphasizes the importance of carrying on with these strikes until its goals are achieved, namely to prevent the Assad regime and its terrorist allied foreign militia from using any weapons against Syrian civilians, including aerial and artillery bombardment, inflammable napalm, white phosphorous, barrel bombs, chlorine, and sarin.

The Coalition also stresses the importance of sparing Syrian civilians the military operations by taking all necessary precautions not to cause civilian casualties and prevent the Assad regime and its allies Iranian militias from using Syrian civilians as human shields. The Coalition also underscores that the goal of these strikes must be to force the Assad regime, Iran and Russia to engage in the political process and agree to start the political transition process without preconditions and in accordance with the Geneva Communique of 2012 and UN Security Council resolutions 2118 and 2254 under the auspices of the United Nations.

The Coalition holds the Assad regime and its allies primarily responsible for the current situation as they continue to commit the most heinous crimes such as wholesale killings, destruction and mass forced displacement. The international community has a responsibility to bring Assad and his allies to justice and assume a unified position to bring war criminals in front of the International Criminal Court.
