The Syrian Coalition was deeply saddened to hear of the death of Syrian actress Fadwa Suleiman who passed away today after a long struggle with disease. Suleiman died away from Syria, where she stood up to the tyrannical Assad regime and its crimes before being forced into exile.
The Coalition extends its heartfelt condolences to the family of Fadwa, her friends, and the youth of the Syrian revolution and its activists who lost one of the symbols of the Syrian revolution. Fadwa became known for leading the protests and sit-ins against the Assad regime and for chanting the first slogans for freedom. In addition to becoming one of the most recognized faces of the revolution, Fadwa provided an excellent model of national unity and for the free actress.
Maybe her soul rest in peace.
May the Syrian revolution emerge victorious.
Long live Syria and the Syrian people, free and with honor.
