Following the release of a video purportedly showing the beheading of Japanese journalist, Kenji Goto, by the terrorist group ISIS, President of the Syrian Coalition said:

“Today, ISIS adds to its litany of horrible abuses the crime of taking the life of a brave and dedicated journalist,who in spite of all the risks, made an arduous journey to Syria to secure the release of his fellow citizen, Haruna Yukawa. Our hearts go out to the family of Kenji Goto, his friends and loved ones.

ISIS thugs proved once again that they speak one language, and that is the language of violence. We stand with the Japanese people and government at this difficult time.

The fight against extremists, whose crimes have spread across the region, will not abate. We will continue to do whatever possible to rid the world of the evil of ISIS and other faceless terrorists.”
