The brutal murder of journalist Steven Sotloff by the terrorist group ISIS is shocking and outrageous. We condemn in the strongest possible terms such an atrocious crime. Firm and immediate action is needed to root out those faceless murderers, not only in Iraq but also in Syria.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Sotloff’s family and friends. The Syrian people will forever be indebted to Sotloff and other brave journalists who paid the ultimate sacrifice while trying to convey to the world the suffering of their fellow humans, who had no voice, in Syria, and indeed all around the world.
