The Syrian Coalition calls upon all organizations concerned with the rights of journalists, including Reporters Without Borders, to do everything possible to defend the rights of Syrian journalists facing the cruelty of the criminal Assad regime.
Head of the Media Office of Daraya’s Local Council, Shahir Al Muaddamani, was targeted Friday while performing his duties in the city of Daraya. Assad’s forces continue to pursue a systematic campaign of intimidation, harassment, and violence against journalists infringing International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights Law.
Shahir Al Muaddamani, 27 years, took part in peaceful demonstrations against the rule of the tyrant Assad. He played an important role in unifying media work in the city of Daraya. Al Muaddamani was an administrator of Daraya’s Coordination Committee, and later joined the Local Council of the city. He was recently elected head of the Media Office of Daraya’s Local Council.
We ask for Mercy for our martyrs, health for our wounded, and freedom for our detainees.
Long live Syria and its people, free and with honor.
