To coincide with Human Rights Day, Minister of State Niels Annen and French Ambassador Anne Marie Descôtes will present Syrian human rights lawyer Anwar al Bunni with the Franco-German Prize for Human Rights and the Rule of Law on Monday, 10 December 2018, at 11.30 a.m. .

The prize, which acknowledges the commitment of 15 human rights defenders around the globe in their respective host countries each year, has been awarded by the German and the French foreign minister since 2016. Mr al-Bunni has lived in Germany since 2014 and is therefore receiving the prize in Berlin.
