Joint Statement of Syrian Rebel Factions on the Paris Attacks

With shock and dismay, we received the news about the terrorist attacks against civil-

ians in Paris, causing dozens of victims among innocents. Details and implications

of this crime are yet to unfold.

Rebel factions in Syria strongly condemn these criminal attacks, which violate all

divine laws and human values, and consider this act of terror no different than the

terror the Syrian people have been suffering from on a daily basis for almost five

years - both stem from the same root: the Assad regime and its instrument ISIS.

Two years ago, the Assad regime publicly threatened to export terrorism to Europe,

as stated by its foreign minister and grand mufti. (Here I would hyper link to the

As we condemn this criminal act, we stress that we will continue our fight against ter-

rorism in the region, which is embodied in the Assad regime and its surrogate daugh-

ter ISIS.

We call on the international community to seriously reconsider its approach towards

Syria, and to direct efforts towards a comprehensive solution that tackles the actual

root cause of the Syrian crisis and of terrorism, particularly since the affected by the

Assad regime and its terrorist affilliate organizations are not only the people of Syria,

but the entire world.
