Statement regarding the Russian Veto against the entry of humanitarian aid and the criminal regime's offer

In a systematic criminal policy, the Syrian regime and its Russian ally continue to target the Syrian people on all fronts and arenas, starting from the displacement of millions and the shelling of markets, schools, and neighborhoods, to the restriction and obstruction of humanitarian aid entry into the liberated areas outside the control of the criminal regime.

During the past few days, Russian occupation has failed to allow humanitarian aid to enter the liberated northern Syria by using its veto power against the Security Council resolution, reinforcing its role in supporting the criminal regime and attempting to besiege the Syrian people and control their basic livelihood rights. This is a dangerous step that threatens the lives of millions by exerting psychological and material pressure on residents in the liberated areas, causing a humanitarian crisis reminiscent of previous forced displacement campaigns.

In recent years, the Russian occupation and the criminal regime have politicized the issue of humanitarian aid and controlled the permission and prevention of aid based on their interests and imposed conditions. Then, in a new political blackmail step, the criminal regime unilaterally announced granting the United Nations permission to enter humanitarian aid through Bab al-Hawa crossing, with conditional consent, far from the United Nations' decision.

We, in the Political Affairs Department of the Syrian Salvation Government, affirm our rejection of accepting these attempts and justifications, which legitimize the criminal regime and serve as a means for political normalization with the criminal who has relentlessly displaced millions who benefited from humanitarian aid in the liberated northern Syria. We also call on the international community to lift the Russian occupation and the criminal regime's control over determining the fate of the Syrian people, and enable them to control their livelihoods. We appeal for the necessity of providing full access to humanitarian aid without restriction, condition, or blackmail, away from the Security Council or the criminal regime, in a manner that achieves justice and a dignified life for the beneficiaries, without imposing harsh conditions that insult their dignity and value their inherent rights
