Statement on the US Recognition of the of the Occupation Entity's Sovereignty Over the Syrian Golan

Praise to Allah, prayer and peace upon the messenger of Allah, upon his family, companions and allies.

The world has watched the political obscenity, by the US Trump administration, of granting the right of sovereignty for the occupation entity (Israel) on the Syrian Golan. The scene of the British granting Plastine to the Jews is repeated again. It is a matter of, as described before, (a grant by who doesn't own to who doesn't deserve). The Syrian Islamic Council, on this reckless challenge to the emotions of the Syrians, Arabs and Muslims, emphasizes the following:

First, the Golan is an Arab Syrian land. It is an integral part of the one land of Syria; its people are Syrian Arab citizens. No conspiracy can deny it such description or such legitimacy under any circumstances or any condition whatsoever. The council calls upon all countries of the world and all nations on earth to reject this arrogant decision that utterly disregard at all international conventions and customs.

Second: The USA (the great power) is supposed to be the protector of peace in the world, and the advocate of rights and law, rather than protecting jungle law and usurpers of land. This is its moral responsibility. The current US administration, by its current decision and its former decision regrading Quds as the capital of the occupation entity (Israel), is laying the founadyion of the so called "New Middle East" against the will of the peoples of the region, ignoring their rights and history. This administration is putting the region and the whole world on the brink of chaos and war, and it is encouraging the greedy aggressions by use of excess of force.

Third: We also hold the Syrian criminal regime responsible for this because Hafez Assad is the one who handed the Golan to Israel without fight during his time as defense minister. During his fateful time in presidency, he acted as a faithful gardian of the occupation entity. He never shooted a single bullet in its direction nor did he take any action to liberate Golan. When his son, Bashar al-Assad, came to power after him, he complemented this role. He sought to destroy Syria and weaken it by his reckless decisions, topped by the suppression of the Syrian people and denying their just rights in freedom and decent living. Bashar is fully responsibe for the resulted situation of Syria and its people, which enticed the occupation and those behind it to take the opportunity of weakness and destruction. The Syrian regime has raised the slogan of defiance, resistance and confrontation. The Syrian people is sick of repetition of the phrase "We reserve the right to respond to the appropriate time and place" against all the attacks of the Zionist occupiers. At the same time, the gang of Assad has sought to kill the spirit of resistance at the Syrian people by assulting their dignity and giving them numerous kinds of ordeals, including death, imprisonment, torture and displacement.

Fourthly, we call upon our Syrian people to reject this decision and to express this rejection next Friday following Friday's prayer. We hereby reaffirm our legitimate constants, topped by the unity of the Syrian Arab Republic and its people.

In conclusion, we ask God to deplete from our country the injustice of the injust, the plots of the plotters, and rid our nation of tyrants and criminals. Paise be to Allah the Lord of the worlds.
