President of the Syrian Coalition Riad Seif stressed that the Coalition's policy is based on the principle of non-alignment and non-interference in the internal affairs of all countries, calling for the resolution of disputes through national dialogue by all parties in an atmosphere of fraternity and mutual understanding.
With regards to reports claiming that the Coalition supports the referendum in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region, Seif said that the Coalition did not take any position in this regard as it is an internal Iraqi issue and that the Coalition respects the will of the Iraqi people.
Bas News Network quoted the Coalition’s Vice-president Abdul Basit Hamo as saying that the Coalition would not object to the referendum in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region.
Seif said that the Coalition’s sole concern is to liberate Syria from tyranny and the murderous regime; preserve the integrity of Syria’s territory and the unity its people; and build a state that is based on the rule of law, justice and equality for all Syrians from all affiliations and backgrounds.
