The Syrian Coalition extends its sincere condolences to the family and friends of the prominent Syrian thinker Sadiq Jalal Alazm who passed away in a hospital in Germany on Sunday. Alazm, who was born in Damascus in 1934, was and one of the most important Arab philosophers and human rights advocates in modern times.
The Coalition pays tribute to the late Alazm and highly praises his intellectual contributions as well his support for the struggle of the Syrian people to regain their rights and his principled stand against oppressive authorities.
With the death of Alazm, Syria has lost a great thinker and philosopher who left behind a legacy that will light the way to freedom and enlightenment.
May Sadiq Jalal al-Azm rest in peace, and may the revolution for freedom and dignity emerge victorious.
