Abdul Qadir al-Saleh, Commander of al-Tawhid Brigades and devoted son of Syria, became a fallen hero yesterday. He died from wounds sustained a few days ago when Assad’s airplanes raided the city of Aleppo.

Known as Hajji Mareh, the 33 year old commander was among the first to participate in the peaceful uprising in Aleppo. He founded al-Tawhid Brigades and stood at the forefront of military operations against Assad’s gangs in the city of Aleppo.

Abdul Qadir al-Saleh became a fallen hero, along with the hundreds of thousands of men and women who have given their lives in this fight for freedom. He remains alive in the minds and hearts of the Syrian people, who will always remember him as an honest, sincere, and devoted man.

The Syrian people are all Abdul Qadir al-Saleh. They are all Ghiath Matar and Abu al-Furat; the fallen heroes who faithfully sacrificed their lives for this great revolution, as did the children of Dara'a before them. The revolution will give birth to new leaders and commanders who will carry on defending the Syrian people and preserving their rights.

The revolution does not lose momentum when its men die. It gains strength. The institution Abdul Qadir al-Saleh established will produce leaders that will participate in shaping the present and future of Syria. As the sun rises every day, there will be new, brave fighters who will expose the burrows where the Assad regime’s leaders hide.

Perpetrators of crimes against the Syrian people will be punished in Damascus. By closing ranks, and with strengthened faith, the Syrian people will pursue the path of the revolution until victory.

We ask for Mercy for our martyrs, health for our wounded, and freedom for our detainees.
