OIC Welcomes the Liberation of the Syrian City of Raqqa
The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation welcomed the liberation of the Syrian city of Raqqa from the grip of the terrorist organization of Daesh, noting the importance of concerted efforts at all levels to combat terrorism, which has become a serious threat to international peace and security.
The General Secretariat affirmed its principled position, which condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations and drains its sources.
The Secretariat renewed its unwavering position in supporting peaceful efforts to resolve the Syrian crisis in accordance with the international reference points agreed upon in the Geneva Declaration 1 and the relevant UN resolutions, which stipulated that the territorial integrity of Syria should be maintained.
