OIC Secretary General Condemns Assassination of Priest Francois Murad, Curator of Marsaman Convent in Northern Syria
Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, Secretary General of the Organisation of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC), has issued a strong condemnation of the brutal terrorist act that claimed the life of Priest Francois Murad, curator of Marsaman convent, in Northern Syria, after a group of armed men stormed the convent, looted and vandalized it, and killed Priest, Francois Murad. The Secretary General recalled, on the occasion, the OIC’s principled and consistent stand in condemning terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. He also made a point of stressing that aggressing clerics, of whatever faith, or their places of worship, is totally in conflict with the teachings of the noble Islamic faith which advocates tolerance, human fellowship, peace and non-violence.
