UN and OIC Joint Humanitarian Call
The United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation are jointly calling on all people and state authorities in Syria to respect the neutrality and impartiality of their personnel accompanying the government–led humanitarian needs assessment mission underway in Syria. Both Organizations noted that their participation to this important mission is strictly nonpolitical in nature and seeks to observe first-hand the overall humanitarian situation and conditions in various towns and cities. The UN and the OIC are therefore urging all Syrians to respect their safety and security in the interests of facilitating the humanitarian needs assessment and the assistance to be extended to the civilians.
