OIC Secretary General condemns blasts in Syrian capital Damascus
The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Professor Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, condemned the blasts that targeted today, Saturday 17th March 2012, government facilities in the Syrian capital Damascus, provoking the death of dozens and the wounding of scores of innocent Syrian people. The Secretary General stressed on the principled OIC position in support for a peaceful solution to the crisis in Syria. He reiterated his call on the Syrian Government to put an immediate end to the bloodshed of innocent citizens, and to respond to the legitimate demands of the Syrian people for democracy, respect of human rights and good governance within the framework of Syria’s unity, security and stability.
