In a continuation of the systematic repressive practices by the Democratic Union Party (PYD) against components of the Kurdish National Council in Syria, militias of the PYD on Thursday, November 17, stormed the headquarters of the Yeketi Party Kurds in the town of Amouda in Hasaka province and detained a number of its leaders and members. The detainees were then taken to an unknown destination.
The Syrian Coalition condemns these detentions as well as all repressive policies the PYD militias have systematically pursued since they established their authority on the area by force of arms. The PYD suppression of whoever opposes its policies and orientations echoes the Assad regime’s dictatorial and repressive policies.
Long live the glorious Syrian Revolution
May our wounded recover, our detainees be free, and our fallen heroes rest in peace.
Long live Syria and its people, free and with honor.
