Memorandum on the creation of de-escalation areas in the Syrian Arab Republic

Working Group") composed of their authorized representatives in order to

delineate the lines of the de-escalation areas and security zones as well as to

resolve other operational and technical issues related to the implementation of the

Memorandum.

The Guarantors shall take steps to complete by 4 June 2017 the preparation

of the maps of the de-escalation areas and security zones and to separate the armed

opposition groups from the terrorist groups mentioned in para.5 of the

Memorandum.

The Joint Working Group shall prepare by the above-mentioned date the

maps of the de-escalation areas and security zones to be agreed by consensus of the

Guarantors as well as the draft Regulation of the Joint Working Group.

The Joint Working Group shall report on its activities to the high-level

international meetings on Syria held in Astana.

The present Memorandum enters into force the next day after its signing.
